The European Prize for Women Innovators: Where Groundbreaking Ideas Meet Fearless Females

Ever heard of a competition that's not just about the next big thing but about the incredible women behind those big things? Enter the European Prize for Women Innovators.

A Brief Overview

The European Prize for Women Innovators isn't just another award. It's a celebration. A celebration of the women who are shaking things up, breaking the mold, and introducing innovations that are changing the face of Europe. And guess what? The 2023-2024 edition is bigger, bolder, and better!

The Key Deets

Organized by the bigwigs at the European Innovation Council and the European Institute for Innovation & Technology, this prize is all about recognizing the sheer brilliance of women entrepreneurs across the EU and countries associated with Horizon Europe. And they're not stingy with the rewards either. With a whopping EUR 100,000 for the top Women Innovator, this is the kind of competition that makes you want to sit up and take notice.

What's the Focus?

Innovation. Disruption. Positive change. This prize is all about those women who've looked at the status quo and thought, "I can do better." Whether it's a tech breakthrough, a new approach to sustainability, or a game-changing product, if it's innovative and making a difference, it's got a shot at the prize.

The Loot

Let's talk numbers. The Women Innovators Prize has EUR 100,000 up for grabs for the top innovator. But that's not all. Two runners-up get EUR 70,000 and EUR 50,000, respectively. Young innovators under 35 aren't left out either, with EUR 50,000 for the winner and EUR 30,000 and EUR 20,000 for the two runners-up. And for those exceptional leaders from the EIT community? EUR 50,000 for the winner and EUR 30,000 and EUR 20,000 for the runners-up. Not too shabby, right?

The Nitty-Gritty

So, how does it all work? First, you've got to be a woman (obviously) from an EU member state or a Horizon Europe associated country. Got an innovative company that's been registered for at least 2 years? You're in. If you're aiming for the Rising Innovators category, just make sure you're under 35. No age limits for the other categories, so whether you're a young entrepreneur or a seasoned pro, there's a spot for you.

Behind the Curtain: The Organizers

The European Innovation Council and the European Institute for Innovation & Technology are the brains behind this operation. With a focus on fostering innovation and driving positive change, these organizations are all about supporting and recognizing the movers and shakers in the European innovation scene.
