Impact Hacks 2023

Welcome to Impact Hacks 2023, where your coding skills meet social impact! This beginner-friendly virtual hackathon invites young programmers from across the globe to create something that doesn’t just work but works for the community.

Impact Hacks isn’t your run-of-the-mill hackathon. It’s a call to arms for high schoolers and college students, regardless of their coding experience, to develop socially impactful products that can uplift and innovate within their communities. Running from September 29th to October 2nd, this event is about harnessing the power of code to tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues, no matter their size.

The hackathon is open-ended in both idea and implementation. Whether your project is related to finance, education, healthcare, social justice, environmentalism, productivity, communication, or organization, if it has a positive impact on humanity, it’s welcome here. Your creation can be a coding project like websites, games, applications, and AIs, or non-coding projects like Figma designs, presentations, and low-code/no-code creations.

• 2nd Place: $50 Amazon gift card
• 3rd Place: $30 Amazon gift card

Your submission needs to include at least a 2-5 minute showcase video or presentation and should be related to themes such as finance, education, healthcare, social justice, and more. Both coding and non-coding projects are welcome, and participants are encouraged to approach the prompt with openness and creativity.

• Creativity: How unique and original is your idea or execution?
• Completion: Is your project a minimum viable product (MVP) with only a few bugs/errors?
• Impactfulness: Does your project positively affect others' lives or society in some way?
• Complexity: Is your project technically advanced or was it challenging to design?
