Brief About the Competition

The Marshall International Case Competition is a prestigious event that invites top-ranked international and US business schools. Participation is both an honor and a formidable challenge. Students, as tomorrow's business leaders, are tested on their creativity and problem-solving abilities under stressful conditions and strict deadlines. The competition aims to better prepare these students to face the challenges of a rapidly changing global business environment.

Teams from twenty top-ranked schools are invited annually. Each school selects a team of four undergraduate students and a faculty advisor. These teams should have expertise across various business disciplines, from finance and marketing to international issues and quantitative thinking.

The competition involves two cases: a short case (5 hours) and a long case (24 hours). Teams are presented with the short case on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, afternoon and have 5 hours to prepare a solution. The long case is presented on Thursday, February 23rd, 2024, and teams have approximately twenty-four hours to research, analyze, and develop action plans. Preliminary presentations are made on Friday, February 24th, with finalists presenting on Saturday, February 25th.

Teams are judged by a panel of industry experts, including CEOs, top management executives, and consultants. Judging criteria focus on analysis depth, relevance, originality, persuasiveness, and overall presentation quality. All team members must actively participate in the presentation phase, followed by a Q&A session. The competition rules allow textbooks, notes, and passive internet use for research. Discussing the case with outside sources, faculty, or advisors is prohibited.
